Acela is excited about our growth in the Corrections market. This market involves a deep understanding of the unique design, safety, security, and operational needs of these types of buildings. Acela’s team of architects and engineers work closely with law enforcement agencies, government bodies, and contractors to deliver safe and functional environments.
Our corrections experience stems from architecture and engineering services for Strategic Facility Planning at 24 facilities for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. Recently, Acela began work for the Alabama Department of Corrections utilizing MassMotion Simulation to gain a comprehensive understanding of the movements within the facilities to better plan for improvements, as well as model evacuation scenarios.
Healthcare
Acela’s expanding healthcare portfolio includes renovations and upgrades to primary care facilities, prosthetics and orthotic labs, mental health suites, physical/occupational therapy suites, radiology suites, whole health suites, exam rooms, nurse stations, equipment and storage rooms, administrative offices, and staff fitness and locker rooms. Our largest healthcare project involved a campus wide infrastructure and technology upgrade to their electronic healthcare records system for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Aerospace
As a licensed commercial pilot, Dan Witczak understands very well the needs and requirements for airports.
Acela offers a range of architectural and engineering services for aerospace. The firm was appointed Carbon County Airport Authority engineer of record in 2017, and awarded a 5 year contract. Some examples of Acela’s aerospace-related work include a medevac hanger, crack sealing of taxiway/runway and replacement of an automatic gate.
Construction
Acela provides a full range of construction related services for clients, including construction inspection and administration for municipalities as well as the Department of Veterans Affairs. Our construction managers, project engineers and inspectors help project budgets meet the clients’ expectations by facilitating communication and solving problems before they impact the job.
